What Treatment is Available for Neurological Conditions?

Updated: Apr 29

A neurological disorder may be due to an injury to the brain or spinal cord, a disease or health event such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease), Guillian Barre syndrome or another neurological condition.  These injuries or diseases can cause physical impairments and disabilities.

What is neurological rehab?

A neurological rehabilitation program helps patients with the nervous system and neurological disorders to improve function, regain mobility, regain strength, and build endurance. We strive to help our patients achieve their highest level of function with our inpatient neuro rehab services.

Our neuro rehab care team will develop a plan of care based on your individual needs. The therapy team of physical therapists, speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists will use therapies to improve conditions such as:

·  Restoring range of motion

·  Improving functional movement and strength

·  Improving gait training

·  Increasing the safety of transfers and mobility

·  Providing balance training

·  Decreasing the risk of falls

·  Improving the ability to perform activities of daily living (ADL)

·  Decreasing spasticity and tone

·  Assisting with swallowing and speech

If you have been diagnosed with a neurological condition, consider Johnson County Rehabilitation Hospital for neurological rehab. Our team of therapists will address your unique needs and create a comprehensive rehab plan of care to help you reach your goals. Learn more about neurological rehab on our website.

He would not have survived if our primary care physician hadn't given him attentive care and attention, as the hospital center didn't provide any psychological support. His fall was abrupt and catastrophic. His hands and legs gave way to weakness in his arms. This year our family physician suggested using vinehealthcentre. com ALS/MND treatment, which my husband has been receiving for a few months now. I'm delighted to say that the treatment greatly reduced and reversed his symptoms…
